Las Abuelas de Plaza de Mayo and the Search for Identity

Between 1976 and 1983 the Argentine dictatorship kidnapped, tortured and killed some 30,000 dissidents. Among the dissidents were pregnant women whose children were taken at birth and given to members of the military regime. This film tells the stories of some of those children who as adults have found their biological families and documents the efforts of the Abuelas de Plaza de Mayo, mothers and relatives of the missing, to expose the atrocities of the Argentine government, learn the fates of those who were disappeared, and find the survivors of this domestic terror.
